| Maurice Schobinger received his photography degree from the Ecole de Photographie de Vevey. Independent for more than twenty-five years, he specialises in industrial subjects and landscapes, high-altitude mountains in particular, usually reproduced in large formats (4x5 and 8x10inches). He has developed complex lighting techniques specially to capture the particular scenes of industrial or engineering sites. Progressively, construction sites have become his ideal setting, where the stamp of man is so indelibly bare. These almost theatrical scenes were most apparent in his series on the Gotthard tunnel and the Lausanne m2 metro building sites. Since 2008, he has undertaken series based on historic or industrial themes, most often related to eastern Europe. - Recent exhibitions: Entropia, Galerie Lucy Mackintosh, Lausanne 2012 La lumière d’Héphaïstos, Esplanade du Château, Aubonne 2011 Stalingrad Volgograd Mémoire, exposition itinérante à Moscou, Volgograd, Lausanne, Genève, Zurich, Vevey (Festival Image) 2010 Stalingrad Volgograd Série, Galerie Lucy Mackintosh, Lausanne 2010 Octobre Rouge, Galerie Leica, Nidau 2008 De la Roche au Rail-votre métro, Forum de l’Hôtel de Ville, Lausanne 2007 Alpes 2020, les nouveaux tunnels, Cité des sciences et de l’industrie, Paris 2007. - Publications: Stalingrad Volgograd, Editions Noir sur Blanc, Lausanne 2010 Altitude 4000, Editions d’autre part, Delémont 2008 m2 le défi, Editions Favre, Lausanne 2008 Gotthard via Subalpina, Editions d’autre part, Delémont 2008 | |||||||||||||||
