Project for Contemporary Art Museum,
Bangkok, 2002
Bangkok is infamous for its pollution. Dusty Relief poses the dichotomy
of the contemporary art museum’s hygiene pathology vs. the toxicity
of the city’s air. The result is a building that ‘breeds dust’ on its
electromagnetic skin whilst, inside, curators are provided with their
pristine white galleries. In between the two is a species of semi-encrusted
area that traverses the dirt taboo. |
