The gallery will be closed from Thursday 16th December 2010 until Monday 10th January 2011.
Doris Lasch and Ursula Ponn define “What is art?”. Their approach takes a narrative style where the work is
staged as a document. The starting point may be a real situation, as in the case of the project developed
for les Urbaines. The two German artists refer to the architectural similarities between the spaces of the
Lucy Mackintosh gallery and those of the Museo della Civilta Romana de Rome, where 500 boxes containing
archeological artifacts have remained stored, in some cases since the end of the 19th century without anyone
knowing the contents.
This exhibition is presented for Les Urbaines Festival, organised by the City of Lausanne. www.urbaines.ch |
