The new show in the Lucy Mackintosh Gallery is about feelings, attitude and atmosphere.
Are You Meaning Company is a Japanese artist living and working in Nagoya. Her work is inspired by every day life, reinterpreting it with a slight sublimation. AYMC creates atmosphere to make our lives a little bit more blissful. For this forthcoming gallery show, AYMC started by thinking that the gallery needs a more contented office. Therefore, she will create a set of picnics, letting us work with an irresistible comfort.
Creating Atmosphere from a Town in Town with the Town is a series of paintings inspired by buildings in Nagoya, alongside a series of photographs created by AYMC during her first journey in Lausanne.
AYMC participated in many significant group shows in Japan, Europe, and the USA, such as «City under the sky», Büro Friederich in Berlin in 2001, «Art Statements» in ART BASEL, and «Girl, Girl, Girl» in Tokyo Opera City in 2002, «Utopia Station» in the Venice Biennale, and «Wings of Art» in the Kunsthalle, Darmstadt, in 2003, «Our Garden», Akiyoshidai International Art Village, Yamaguchi, and «from east and west», Shugoarts, Tokyo in 2005.
